Look what I picked

We started last spring, with the gardening beds that we started with the Food First Program. Um, they provided all of the ground manure and, um...fertilizer, or whatever you want to call it, and then, they provided, also provided the boards for it.
So you made your garden, and then we had a mentor. So, my mentor was my aunt and so while we were doing this my nephews were at my house, so, they were getting into it, and they were wanting to throw the sand in with it, and my nephew was trying to plant and my dad was like, “Just give him a section of your garden.”
So I had to get like a stick to bar off his section. So he, he planted like turnip greens and when you look at it he would like have a great big hole, and then he’d put like a handful of turnip green seeds in one.
So...It was like, “Ahh, I don’t know how much is going to grow!” And then you look down over the box side and he had a whole lot of seeds spread out on the ground, so we had like, we were stepping on turnip greens while they were growing.
So they were having fun with it, yeah.
They like strawberries a lot, so like, I was thinking, “Oh, there’s a strawberry started! I’m going to get that.” And then, like come home the next day it’s like, my nephew ate it already or something like that.
Or...they’re going out to my garden, they’re coming back like, “Look what I picked!” And it was this like, tiny little carrot you could hardly see it was starting, but they, they were so proud they had picked something. Yeah.
